August 2017 Newsletter

It was a sad day at The Foodbank on July 6th as we found out that one of our much-loved volunteers, the lovely Peter J, passed away on Monday. At the age of 87 he was our oldest team member and one of the longest-serving volunteers, who worked here diligently until very recently when illness stopped him coming in.

We are grateful for everything Peter added to our team, his gentle personality and warm sense of humour will be sadly missed.

‘We, North Tyneside’
Stephen Waddington and ‘We, North Tyneside’ raised £1040 via Stephen’s blog and twitter. This was inspired by I, Daniel Blake to help support the foodbank. Superstars! Thank you so much

Engie and DFDS
Thank you to Engie from Quorom Business Park and DFDS for their donations. They were much appreciated!

Proctor & Gamble
They continue to be wonderful. Proctor and Gamble donated £250, fabric softener and nappies to our cause. They were much appreciated and were put to great use going to those in need. P&G have also provided further donations and new boxes which we are always in need of. Thank you so much!

‘Ello, ello, ello…
Instead of charging for tea and coffee at their annual attestation and awards ceremony, the North Tyneside Volunteer Police Cadets collected food donations from attendees. What a thoughtful idea!

Kings Priory School
We’d like to say a thank you to Kings Priory School for their continued support for the foodbank through repeated donation efforts. Thank you so much!

Returned in kind
A former client of the Foodbank donated a double-sided receipt’s worth of food. Thank you very much, we’re so glad we could be there for you!

Hallmark Cards
Katherine and the staff at Hallmark Cards in Royal Quays donated a bevy of food. Thank you to your team!

Fire Station pub
Thank you to the Fire Station pub for their collections. Much appreciated and well used!

Cedarwood Trust
With a showing of I, Daniel Blake, the Cedarwood Trust took donations of food for us. Look at it all! Thank you so much!

Thank you from every one of us at The BAY Foodbank.
